LD28 sump on an L28

been looking at the sump from my LD28 and it looks similar to an l-series sump. Gasket fits it perfect and they both appear to have the “sump” section in the middle. The main difference is the ears sticking out the sides. Has anyone used this sump on an l-series before?

Hi John.

Curiosly my two LD28 blocks here (type V57 with VO7 cranks) don't have your 'ears' !

I think it depends on the car it was from. Shame I don’t know what car this came out of. I will almost certainly use it with the stroker engine. The ears are both baffled as well and the sump is in great condition.

After a bit of research it appears these sumps are used on industrial LD28’s. Forklifts and the like.
