As mentioned in another thread, air-cooled 911s are of interest to me. A 911SC coupe backdated and resto-modded by me to taste (RSR style) with the outlaw/Magnus Walker vibe would do.
Oh yes ! Urban Outlaw - The movie

Loved the video... 911 on my bucket list too.

Magnus Walker is an epic dude. The silver car with the blue stripe is positively sexual. And 277 just rocks.
Genuine GT40's are 'lottery winning' values for sure...... but what about a replica? Same looks, similar grunt.Ultimate classic?
1960's Ford GT40....
I'll never realise that dream now, way too old (me, not the GT40!).
Having seen the GT40s at Le Mans Classic, that would have to be the "lottery winning" car.
I had forgotten about my love of 60's/70's Alfa's until it was just mentioned. Also love those short 2 seater looking lancia's of the same era.
I'll just have to setle for the car iv'e been playing with today. They front wings and bumper need a bit of moding to look like they are meant to be on the same car.
I thought the point of the thread was that the alternative cars to our Z's were attainable?

Replicas can undoubtedly work but when you turn at Le Mans Classic to be confronted by dozens of the things (GT40 replicas), it is disappointing. Maybe I'm too old fashioned but I can't help think that if I don't have the money to buy an original, then don't buy anything at all.

Great comment
I sold my first 240Z 15/16 years ago to buy a 1980 911 which I kept for 10 years or so, then I sold that to buy a 2006 BMW Z4M Roadster which I still have as well as the Orange 240Z, MOT time tomorrow for the ///M and I've only done 181 miles in it over the last year due to having the 240Z, very different cars obviously 150BHP to 343BHP and 34yrs apart but both great cars that I love loads
