I bought my 240z from Hofman leek in Holland Jan 2020, and towed in on a trailer back to the UK parked it up with intentions of restoring, then fast forward to now and I have just realised I never did any paperwork to say its in the UK,

i'm now starting the restoration and don't know how to proceed in geting it recorded as in the UK and if there was any paperwork i have missed sending off. its not road worthy at the moment but I wanted to get it registered here and get a number plate V5 etc

Hi ,
have you paid import duty on the car , it should be 5% of the purchase price !? if you have not paid you probably need a specialist to help you.
If you need help on that I know a really good guy I can put you in touch with .

Did the car have any visible req plates on it whilst it was on your trailer?
I imported a Renault whilst we where still part of the EU. It was surprised to me that they knew the date it entered the country you only have a limited time to declare a NOVA . (I can only guess that they recorded it at the port ?)

There were no plates on the car when it came across, I'm a idiot for thinking it was payable when the car was going on the road,

I'm not sure what the late penalty fee would be

Presumably since it has no presence here at all, you could take it to france and reimport it.
