Gurston down

The rebuilt, ben stapley (ex janspeed dutch works race car) made it's return to the fray of hillclimb at the weekend at Gurston Down. Now running on injection, slide throttle and DTA fully mappable engine management, the Pride Race Engines built motor was running on song and producing massive smiles on the faces of it's drivers, Ben Stapley and Dee Limb (soon to be Dee Stapley). Having an engine that produces 200ft/lb of torque at 2000 rpm climbing to 270ish at 5500 rpm not only helped to produce those smiles but also on it's first outing proved to be a real handful of car. By the end of the weekend Ben had got down to within 6 tenths of a second of his best times, which considering that it was over a year since driving the car was a good result. Dee got over her apprehension of driving the car again at Gurston following the big accident she had last year to produce very respectable drives improving on every outing. Due to the excellent weather we didnt get to play with the traction control and hope that it will stay like that for the rest of the season. Next outing for us is 10th and 11th September at Gurston.
