I'm restoring a 70 and a 71 240z and want to know what the best result is to a cracked dash. Ive seen all options but can someone give me first hand knowledge of the best route.

Thanks CSJ

Nice response Pete.

There are 3 options for a cracked dash:

Fill the cracks with a repair kit.
Use a carpet type toupee.
Dash cap

I'd just go for a dash cap if it was.

Great thanks. Think the full cap is the way to go, has anyone actually bought one? whats the quality like?

I have a full cover on my 260Z and it looks great. That is the way I would go instead of a cap as it covers the whole dash not just the top. The caps look obvious IMO.

Dash covers are usually fibreglass (or at least mine is) so it is unlikely to crack in the future. More expensive than the caps but worth it. Have a look at the pic and tell me you can see the joins!!!

If it looks anything like the photo on their site then it's an awesome solution!!

Last time I got a full LHD dash cap was about £100 from MJP eastern auto (UK based) and no import duties but that was a few years ago.
