Fuel pressure regulator and restricted return advice

I will be fitting one of the Sytec Pro Flo fuel regulator's, and after trawling through several threads about the before or after the carbs issue, i think i'll stick with before for now.

However the restricted return is still present on the fuel rail, so do i leave it as is, or remove/drill it out?

I used one of those for a few years before the carbs and with the standard return. Set to 2.5.

Increasing the pressure setting definitely increases the pressure at the carbs on that set-up. I've witnessed it when I had a faulty carb float.
