A specific look I wanted and which, I assure you, doesn't extend to the roof lining like some Eastern derived cars. Quilted padding is found on most '60s sports-cars and I want my Zs' look more associated with the late'60s than early '70s....simples.

Does it give extra soundproofing over standard vinyl or just an aesthetic preference ?

Iguess it might give some but that wasn't the aim. It does cushion your legs though and reduce the heat from the exhaust. The main aim was the '60s look and to avoid the effect 'too much' of wall-to-wall sameness that some pratice.

Really pleased for you. Looking forward to see the colour if it’s not the yellow/lime that eagle eyed chris saw in the pics.

The padded stuff should off a bit more noise dampening I reckon, just as it adds a few mm extra density.
