With regard to the front marker lights. I see lots of vehicle fitted with front amber side marker lights that do not flash as indicators. This is primarily on commercial vehicles but can this be done on cars?

The front indicators will need to be converted to just indicators so the don't illuminate when the headlights are on.

I worked on the front lights and indicators today. I've replaced the main sealed beam headlights with ones that have H4 bulbs + sidelights. I cut the green/blue feeds to the orange indicator lights, which we all know act as side lights on the American spec, and joined them to the new sidelights. Everything works fine so almost legal....I'm leaving the side markers to come on with the new sidelights as I like the look. I may have to have an on/off switch for these if the mot center grizzles. All in all a very simple conversion. Rear lights next when the lenses arrive!!

Very interesting....very supprised how orange the indicator is glowing. I was committed to purchasing some new lenses but having seen the video you have posted I'm having second thoughts. Definitely worth exploring further considering the cost of the units from somewhere like JDM. With purchase, tracked shipping and import tax its looking around £650. Thanks for the insight :)

Nick, you can get the Blem ones for a lot less than that. And the Blem ones are fine ... Woody and I both bought them ...

Still a lot compared to the LED bulbs though, but you'll have to rewire the brake switch with a separate wire so it isn't as if there is no work involved. I've got some pics of mine I must post up ... (when I find them)

Thanks for that. Complete U turn at the moment as I'm exploring orange LED's
Just about to send an email to a company that I have dealt with before when I converted to LED's for rear lights and brakes on my Lancia. Wiring not a problem now as I've all the kit and a reasonable amount of knowledge to undertake the work.
Photos would be interesting though.
