Engine swapped Zeds

Apart from V8s, does anyone know of any Zeds in the UK with full engine swaps? I'm sure there was a white car at billing with a 300zx engine, but would love to know more about it!

I do like the idea of putting a modern jap engine into a 240, would anywhere in this country perform such a thing? I know in Australia and Japan there are quite a few cars with Nissan RB and toyota engines in them!

cheers all

Greetings Phil,
I'm by no means an expert on the subject, and I don't know of the availability of some of the Nippon motors these fitting kits are for, in the UK, but have a butchers at this:

The 510's/1600's motors are basically the L6 minus 2 cylinders so I can't see why they wouldn't work on Z-cars.

Hope this is of some interest and help to you.

You'll be needing www.hybridz.org

I am gonna go for a SB Chevvy engine but I looked into full 4wd Skyline conversions. That was pretty much a no no unfortunately but anything is possible

why would you want to swap the Z engine for another, there is loads of power available from the Z engine if you go about it the right way and you end up with a drivable, insurable and fun car that works and is reliable. just my thoughts ben

The white car seen at Billing does indeed have a Z31 single turbo engine fitted along with appropriate uprated diff etc. Owner is called Steve .....? He lives in the Doncaster area of Yorkshire. A very tidy installation and very rapid too.

I agree with Ben. Iam not at all a Z snob and it's nice to fantasize but the heart of a car is under the bonnet...
The RB conversions are sweet but does look wierd under the bonnet of a 30 year old car. Your L 2? series engine will do what you want it to do and you can get to change the plugs !
