I have for sale the following
an E88 cylinder head. The head surface and combustion areas in very good shape, valve move freely. Cam, followers , rockers and springs all present but the cam a Stage 2 shows sign of a lot of wear . £75. Comes with a new head gasket.

Front timing cover L26, I think it also fits 240 and 280 . Its in very good condition all threads clean and run smoothly , no cracks £50.

Cam Cover in good shape £50.

Set of flat top pistons seems to have had very little use I think they are 81mm . One is a bit pitted and a couple have very small marks on the top. Writing on the top is A12125P .002 TOP IM Come with conrods £75.

collection only due to size and weight . I am in Leicestershire and happy to meet up somewhere close by to help out.

Did you have some debris or a piece of spark plug go through the engine (or possibly slight detonation)?
That pitting looks to be the same shape as the squish area.
It looks like there is enough meat above the top ring to machine the pitting out then match the other pistons, albeit at a slight drop in compression (but still better than dished pistons).
I would assume that the pistons are for the stock 83mm bore of the L24 or L26, perhaps someone else can confirm this or correct me.

Engine was run with a faulty carburetor , caused the issue on the one piston
