Apologies for down time today. Thank you to Andy Duff for giving me the heads up. For some reason all permissions on the forum folder had gone missing?

Bizarre, will keep an eye on it, but we're baaaaack :)

Got to the bottom of it, there was a limit set on the server for number of emails sent per hour.

Rather than disable the email server the admin/script/something decided the best course was to just disable the folder the email scripts were in (taking out our entire website and forum in the process, nice one!).

Have increased the limit four fold, hopefully we won't see the error again.

Do pms count as e-mails because if so It was down to me doing 2 mass pms not sure if both went through one was for the agm agenda and the other was the minutes of last years 2008s AGM

we need to prune the number of onetime users who have come on line and never came back over the years as there is a load of automated spammers still registered here

may be we could do a edit/perge of users who only visited once when they registered and never visited again using a cut off date of say Dec 2007 that way all the dogy russian users would be wiped out
 
so what you're saying Steve is that you broke the website?

Might have known. It bust as soon as you posted.
 
I was quite relieved when Derek told me it wasnt just me. I initially thought that one of his jokes had led to censorship issues.:p

Yeah if people have pm notification turned on it'll send them a mail. Thankfully though we have a big fat server and the email limit is just a safeguard, pm/mail away :)
