Rolling road.
Formerly,Trevor Shaw's(Daventry). I booked in to RR,
& on the day found out, through someone else, that Trevor had
sadly passed away.I went ahead as scheduled,& had to wait 45
minute's before anything was looked at.
I spent this 45 minute's looking at this bloke,looking at me,who said another bloke would arrive one day...
Another bloke arrived,who seemed to know the Jaguar s.u, He began the usual twiddle,with some nice sound's along the way,
ummm,ah! etc. I think he was in a rush to get off to Luton.
He said,we dont have the right needle,so I said what do you
propose? He replied,that I'd have to book in again.
On leaving the premise's with the 2" carb's balanced,he suggested carb damper oil was low & put too much in to the
damper pot's.
On the way home,the car ran for about 5 minute's then
it sucked the oil into the manifold,& thereafter in dense traffic,I
was Swearing,& road rage almost took over the 70 quid I was
charged for my endurance!. None of my Z's had driven so badly.
I pulled over at this layby & took carb pot's off cleaning oil,etc
& somehow got home. I politely cancelled further appointment's
with RR & rang ' Burlen fuel system's direct who sent me the
appropriate needle's & lord & behold after my own slight tweaking
the car now fly's & carb problem's are no more.
According to RR My Z , without headwork,& triple's has every
potential of being very quick.

2" Jag carb's,K&N filter's,elec dist.
Just waiting on a gearbox to accentuate other bit's & then perhap's somehead work................................DJZ 60.
