if the trigger angle is configured 10° out, the timing would report 10° out acoss the range. all works fine, but if you command 34° advance but the config error means thats really 44°, then it'll knock and you'll retard to 22° and wonder why.

The ignition timing has been set by the technician to a avoid knock, whether there’s an error in sensor location which results in a reading of 22 rather than 34 it wouldn’t explain the drop off in power?
The knock maybe a product of high 11:1. compression and poor burn with that head design so compensating for the knock is killing the motor?
As the motor drops off so early could it be a retarded cam?

That makes sense, its got to be timing/timing related somewhere. Unless the injectors are max chat

Thanks chaps.

Had an exchange with Jenvey who said that my current injectors are 350cc and that they also offer 550cc.....but 350cc per cylinder is surely enough - no ?

Looks like I may be switching rolling roads in the New Year under the auspices of my friend, Daniel Valinho up near Paris..... A/F and all the frills !

Anymore thoughts are welcome, I'll be reporting back in with any news. So as not to upset the mods and stay on subject - he and I'll be working on a cold-air intake and biggest airbox we can fit between rad support-panel, BMC, trumpets and inner wing AND the chassis rail to bonnet....30litres is the target but 20'll do !

Thanks - for me to check, Martin of MZR restored and prepared the car so should know what he's doing.

According to the charts a 350cc injector on a 6 cycl motor should get to 360bhp at 3bar. Did you check fuel pressure?

That seems to be the general rule of thumb in Skyline circles that the injector size on a 6 cylinder at 3bar base fuel pressure is the maximum power they will support.
i.e. 550cc = 550BHP

I wouldn't get too caught up in airbox size. I think an e36 m3 is about 14ltrs. thats over 100bhp N/A

Funny you should mention that - we had one on our hands and slipped in in an engine bay to see...

Yes Paul, I agree - either as it was suggested (by Franky ?), the injectors are not at 'max-power' OR there is a whopping timing issue !
