Back on the road

I think you deserve to call it Phils' new 240G (not allowed to call it anything else ;) as it's yours and you've resurrected it !

Phil

Loton opens at Easter for a national A weekend Sun/Mon be nice to have another Z'ed in the paddock:)
HDLCC Members get a practice weekend for around £90/day mid March, upto 10 runs/day.

Must say motor looks very smart, V8's have that a certain something you just can't describe:D no matter what they are fitted in.

Nigel

Never used in anger Sean? Did you ever get to ride in it? Clive didn't hang about!

I also seem to remember him spinning it at the Chicane at Goodwood, hmm wonder if there is any video of it still kicking around........

Nice to see it back on the road Phil, and i am sure you will enjoy it (especially the noise!) and there is probably a sprint at North Weald next year I can arrange an entry for........

Brakes on it were very large Willwoods and very good IIRC so perhaps a good check over and maybe some new pads before you change the servo?

PS did you ever check and see if the 3.5 diff is stil in it? (it did have 3.5 marked on it in white paint)

260zg

THANKS FOR THE REPLY TELL ME MORE ABOUT THE POSS VIDIO ?? I WILL CHECK THE DIFF !! ALSO THE BRAKES ? ARE NOT GOOD IT HAS A SMALL SERVO FTTED ! WILL CHECK PADS IT MIGHT BE THEY ARE TO HARD ?? DO YOU HAVE ANY MORE INFO I MIGHT LIKE TO KNOW ?

REGARDS PHIL IIRC ?? SORRY DO NOT KNOW ??WHAT YOU MEAN ?

TELL ME MORE ABOUT NORTH WEALD PLEASE

Hi Phil

IIRC = If I Remember Correctly

Used frequently re your car as it was some time ago and me memory aint what it was!

Re Video. It was a club meet at Goodwood a long time ago and there were various videos taken at the time. I think I still have some in-car stuff around somewhere and there may be some of the Blue meanie-Clive may have had a copy.

I would certainly check out brakes as if they are working properly they should be very good. Pads may just need a clean up and roughen of the surfaces.

North Weald

My car club runs a coupl of sprints a year at North Weald. To enter these you need:-

A licence (nat non-race) from the Motor Sports Association cost about £30 for the year

An approved crash helmet and overalls-can be bought fairly cheaply as you don't need F1 spec items.

Membership of a MSA affiliated club.

A car (!)

The circuit at North Weald, being an airfield, is not the most exiting but then doesn't have trees right next to the track! The course is mostly laid out in cones and all you have to do is remember where you are going (easier said than done) and blast around. The runs are done against the clock and here is only one car on the track at a time

All good clean fun and competitive althugh you will have to accept you may not be up with the quick guys to start with.

Cheers

Colin
