Is it black?

It was a 240z that the original owner swapped a janspeed turbo engine into, along with the badging etc etc, the old blow through turbo. Its now been removed.

Its had sills/inner wings/doors/3 quarters/bonnet/floors/tunnel top/front suspension turret.

If you look at it you'll notice it was done as an enthusiastic home restro, I don't know how you'd describe it as pristene condition when you look around the body properly, there's no rust(well wasn't) but lots to sort out to be worth anyway near that sort of money.

It'd be a bare body job to sort out to build back up to command that sort of cash(IMO).

There was about 3 club members who looked at it, when it was up for £5k 4 years or so ago. We all walked away.

Sorry guys Id copied/pasted advert assuming easy to post pic after but Im on iphone till tomorrow & not savvy enough to upload pics Lol....

It is indeed black & reg is WNK 77M

Any links to advert would be appreciated.....

Sounding like I need to give it a miss folks

Anyone got a link to this car anywhere?

Edit: Ah, I think I know it. I was thinking it was another infamous black car - which was half the stated price.

Never mind the quality of the work done to the car (have not seen it) - most modified cars are usually valued by the owner at far above what they could realistically get for the car.

Yeah, where in Cumbria are you? Are you looking for a 240z or only looking at this one as it's being offered as a trade in?

FB pics

Hopefully this works

What do you think you'd get for that 240z? Maybe 20k?

It's been 30k for a year or so and not gone anywhere.

Hard to give an estimate without knowing and seeing the full extent of the work done to the car in person.

Very true. My thoughts are based on a few having seen it and all the body stuff which is the same is it was. I've no idea on what a value uplift with that engine setup is?

I thought it was originally up for a lot more than it currently is. I remember seeing the car at Castle Comb a few years back and talking to Leo about the extent that Janspeed went to build and develop the powerplant. At the time thought about the huge amount of money he must have spent on the car and that he would really struggle to get most of it back. I believe this is a unique car and someone may see the value in it.

I get people can have a opinion but when it's a small group like the z club in regards to the number of datsuns that are actually on the road and people trying to keep them on the road for people to remember and appreciate the Z's. You get negative comments about your car when their car isn't even on the road.

Let me know when your ready to meet up to put are cars to the tests.

With any enthusiasts forum, particularly one where the cars are pretty rare you're going to have people point out what they see as faults. Some of those faults might be genuine issues with the car, some will simply be things they don't like. There can't be many Z's out there that don't have anything on the owners' "to do" list.

If you're thinking of buying a car you do your research, inspect the car and then it's up to you and the seller to find a price you're both happy with.

In this case I've seen Leos' car up close a couple of times and personally I thought it was lovely. I'm not an expert so there may be things that a trained eye would spot that I wouldn't but if it was on my driveway I'd be chuffed to bits.
