I remember Thomas when he visited the first international meeting ’85 in Germany/Luxemburg. We ‘raced’ on the test circuit of Goodyear in Colmar-Berg/Luxemburg. Everybody was impressed of his car. ‘We ‘started a fresh Z club and he came already with turbo charged Datsun!!!

I love the colour.
Bonnett looks great with the inspection flaps built in.
And the arches look superb.
All in all, the best Z I've ever seen.

I think the bonnet on the red car looks better with the grill in both sides, but when I first saw DSA in '83 in Porsche red I thought & still do that it's one of the best around along with Jan's with that front spoiler & rear bumper.

Thats the red Z that was featured in the mayfair mag in the late 80's isn't it, I don't buy nudie mags but a work mate at the time found it so I had to go and buy a copy  it featured several early Z's & 1 or 2 nice girlies ;)

It is true  I have just checked my binder of Z mag features & that is the one that was in mayfair mag there are 2 pics of it in the stubble of a corn field & some filly with long dark hair & not many clothes on on the reverse of the page :D, sorry don't have the date of the mag as the pages I extracted have no dates on them. I had a huge pile of mags with Z features from over the last 30 years so to save on space last year I threw the mags & placed the articles in a binder.

No I don't buy girlie mags either,I didn't even know Z's appeared in them, I thought it was only nudes. One of my first Zclub meetings in '83 Thomas came over from Sweden in a great looking guards red 240 with wide arches & his car was put on the front of the club mag as seen in post # 2.But anyway by late '80's it was black as seen in above pics.

The Mayfair mag pics came from the Silverstone 100th Anniversary of the car meeting. My 240 was also featured waiting at the front of the queue for track time. The meeting was organised into alphabetical segments for track time, so Z Club members went out three times - "D" for Datsun in session 1, "N" for Nissan in session 2 and "Z" for Z (obviously) in session 3. No-one batted an eyelid...

Yes I remember being there & yes we did go out 3 times & we all got a medal to commemorate the 100 years.

from Thomas

GTC 483 was owned by one of my best friends, Bjarne Jansson at the
time. It had Opel Manta MK1 taillights. We had a lot of fibreglass
parts made together for both our cars. At one time in the 70's it's
said this car was used by olympic wrestler Frank Andersson. It has
changed owner a couple of times since the 80's. Before Bjarne sold it,
I custom made a stainless exhaust and installed one Electramotive
racing header for him. I think the Mayfair mag in question was late
1987. I think I still have a copy somewhere. I think the cover is a
girl with a backpack. A short and thin guy named Ed took the pics.
