Hi, Some one old enough to remember that car?:)

I bought it from Thomas long time ago, and its almost done.
It would be nice to see some old fotos of it.

I don't have any photos of it but I've seen it over here twice, once red & once black.
It did appear in the old black & white Z club mag.

The first time I saw that car it was red so it must have been when that club picture was taken in 1983.

When I saw it again it was black & I prefered it in red.

I have one article from a swedish carmag called Bilsport, it was red and in the text they wrote Toyota 240Z..Thomas never forgave the magazine:)

I first met Thomas at a Z Club meeting in 1983 - the first outing of my 240Z V8. We shared "Best Z" honours at that meet!

I found these photos in an old collection - they date from 1986 approx. and are at Goodwood Race Circuit and Santa Pod Raceway during a Z Club International week / weekend:

He did drop in to MJP to renew our friendship - I have a photo on a hard drive that crashed last week. When (if) the data is reclaimed, I'll post it up!

just got this email from thomas

"The car was originally yellow. It was dark blue metallic when I bought
it Oct 31, 1981.
Summer of 1982 I did some rust repairs and
painted it Porsche red (027) but cops used to single me out so I
changed to black in 1985. It started to crack at the seams so I did a
body overhaul in 1988-89 and last colour was Porsche preussian blue
(033x-blue). A nice dark silver colour that went from maroon to purple
in the sun, depending on angle. I didn't use it from 1991 and Jan
bought it, piece by piece from me. The body and registration papers
were signed over to Jan, late 1998.

I now have a Ferrari 288GTO project. VIN number is from a 1981 308.
Body parts are mostly original 288 with a F40 GT/Evo. chrome-moly
frame. Engine used for the build-up is from a Maserati 4200GT which is
basically the same motor as F430. I might buy a F430 specs engine
later. I also have a Lancia Abarth 037 project which might get a twin
turbo Alfa 24v V6 engine and F360 transmission. 288GTO and 037 have
almost identical dimensions, both are Pininfarina designs. Also a 1984
BMW M6 that Jan's company is working on and a front engine 2-seater
that I want some 1960's italian design body on. "
