abusive posting crackdown

I don't think he's been banned ( why would he be? ). As far as I'm aware, he's had some health issues.

The simplest thing to do would be to wait for him to show up on the forum - or at an event - and ask him the same questions again. Either he does own it, and will be able to come up with irrefutable proof fairly easily ( showing someone a photo won't quite cut it... ) or he doesn't, and won't. I haven't seen any of his forum buddies backing up or verifying the story either.

As the Count states, he's still recovering from the seizure he had last week so I doubt he will be active around the forum for the moment.

At some point Phil is going to need to clear up the story around the ZG (I would've asked him myself had he been at Tatton last weekend) but how and when that will happen I don't know. We will have to wait and see.

By all means, feel free to start your own absolutely gripping new thread. Tell us all about your latest trip to Wookey Hole, or something. :)

Great idea! I've never been to Wookey Hole. I could take some great pictures of my car there, then share the experience on the forum with other enthusiasts!
Or then again I could just sit at home and put up something on the forum that others might consider spiteful and sarcastic.
I wonder which is preferable on a forum dedicated to celebrating ownership of Z cars?

What a ruddy yawn fest

I'm with Riddler on this.

We have some very abusive comments posted so we decide to 'moderate' and to explain the system used.

And what happens - certain folks just continue to ramble on about the same old stuff and pick holes in the detail of the moderation and try to complicate things. Even THIS post is now getting abusive.

As Riddler stated it's a big yawn and nothing more than my wife gets from the kids at her Primary school during playtime.

If the pair of you can't actually see that the root cause of the friction was a Z Club member claiming to own a car that all evidence suggests he doesn't, and that - in all likelihood - he made the claim in order to cause some kind of controversy in a thread that was started with the intention of getting a clearer idea of what S30-series Z cars the members of The Z Club actually own, then I can't help you.

Posts which throw terms like "spiteful and sarcastic", and "Kids at Primary school during playtime" around are not exactly bringing any light of wisdom to illuminate the topic either, are they? You appear to be complaining about the smoke whilst throwing more damp rags onto the smouldering embers.

Rob, as a Moderator you might like to note that I have asked straight and sincere questions on this thread that have been totally ignored, whilst others appear to be getting some kind of 'Mates Rates' moderation with the personal touch thrown in. It doesn't look even-handed or moderate to me. Perhaps you think my questions are not worthy of an answer, or that they have already been answered? They haven't.

We will indeed.

so i havent really read this thread as im sure its full of useless ****. lol.

why do we need so many rules? we are all adults and there is no way we are all going to get along. so many different people it will never happen. cant we just have 1 big rule.

IF YOU HAVE NOTHING NICE TO SAY THEN SAY NOTHING ATALL.

this would be so easy to moderate and make everyone's life that bit easier. just a thought though

The only abuse is coming from people who have nothing to contribute so to them and you I say :IF YOU HAVE NOTHING NICE TO SAY THEN SAY NOTHING ATALL.

THE moderating system hasn't been explained (fully) as I repeat that which is claimed to be needing moderating is still open to PERSONAL interpretation (and your comments show that up very clearly.

You have some constructive feedback, nobody is against moderation and even non club members wanting to contribute but all is seen as negative because (and here I'm guessing) any comments are seen as negative against the voluntary, unsung moderators !

C'mon - lighten up and press for the truth on this ZG.

We've had claims before here in France of which The Count is aware - they should be looked at by a serious club - more interesting than photos of Wookey Hall imho ;).

Is all this because Phil has said he owns a car?
I haven't seen the post in question and don't really know what cars he does and doesn't have, but I've dealt with Phil a few times and I thought he had contacts and stuff in Japan and use to get quite a few things from there.

So do quite a few of us. The world is a lot smaller these days.

But his story is a little bit more complicated than just having "contacts and stuff"...
