No work on the Z this weekend....

At the gf's....

To be resumed tomorrow where I will be cleaning/ polishing the engine bay and replacing hoses .etc...

Expecting to have it done around Christmas time!!! Hopefully sooner!

Really, given school is back next week !:lol:

Surely you will be back to a full time job and with you stating ^^^ that you will be doing everything apart from welding and spray painting, I think a Christmas finale is optimistic.

Don't you ?

Unless you plan on bunking lessons as well:smash:::rolleyes:

Going by my experiences on my cars, even if you outsourced the entire build to a restoration company, it is unlikely that they could turn it around in 3 months ( to achieve the Christmas deadline) unless they work on your car 24-7. Which in simple maths = big money.

Got to say that 10/10 for effort so far ...great Mojo booster  I need to kick start some of my projects and complete them.

I guess you will be painting the engine bay, so are you going to be taking the engine out at some point? If so it may be easier to clean up parts with the motor out and the engine bay stripped... I just keep the bonnet shut at shows.

Yes!

Engine bay getting painted black.

Decided on that!

Will look a lot cleaner in the long run!

Rest of car in copper metallic.

Lots of room in the engine bay to work in plus I can make all the hoses the correct lengths and fitments, which I will not be able to do with the engine out...

Yes......

I have been told Christmas is optimistic......

However.... If you do not make targets/goals, then you have no targets/goals to achieve!!!

So going to work my ass off on it in wveey spare few hours I have to get as much done on it as possible...

Might move onto addingsome subtle touches to the interior once the engine has been done, if my friend who is welding has not taken it by then...

Been said before....

But, you can only buy certain hoses! Not all of them (Which is quite annoying!!). I am replacing all of them, water/vacuum/petrol/oil .etc....

So hence I have bought all the different sized silicone hoses to make them all up.
Spent a whole morning measuring all the i.d of all the rubber hoses on the car....

If you like I can post a list after I have done, incase someone else would like to do the same!!!

We do not like that old rubber!!!!!

Blue silicone baby!!!

Woooooooop!!!!!!!

Going to have the engine bay blue, black, and polished metal.

Why are you painting the engine bay black? I might be alone but I think a black engine bay looks like a half arsed effort and really detracts from a car.

Well....
Out of personal choice, I think it will look a lot cleaner...

Some of the body parts are going to be black too...

No--the question to be asked is why the change? I am sure somewhere in the 21 or so pages of the build thread, you stated that you were going to keep the body totally stock!..

Is there a reason for the change in direction? Don't get me wrong, it's your car, your project, your design so entirely your choice as well...

Or have you been influenced by the styling seen on some zed's on this forum and elsewhere?

BTW if you are looking for some man size wheels, 9" and 10.5" drop me a PM.

Yep.

Interestedin the man size wheels.

What you got?!

I always said I was going to keep it standard except for front bumper and zg style riveted arches.

I measured the arches out meticulously and these were the correct dimensions.

My preference that zg style arches look miles better.

I also looked at those ones from the mjp shop and the front to back arch gap ratio between the tops of the tyres does not look right....

Given they are a specific size and fitment for the car, cannot really change them, so I decided against them.

Going to go with the same colour coding....

Black arches, rear spoiler, and front bumper.

Original copper metallic body.
