350z Wales drive out.

And yes Rob, I will do a full write up ;)

Sorry we couldnt make Japfest this year, it clashed with a annual Wales drive out but I am sure you all had a great time.

Anyway, we met up on the Saturday for a casual drive from Cheter along the coast to the Great Orme for lunch. This was mainly to give the guys driving a long distance something to make the weekend worth the trip.

The weather was dry but a little breezy. We had just under thirty cars for this day.

On the Sunday we left at 10am from Chester services to dive down to Bala for lunch. With over 60 cars expected we were in touch with the police who were great and very helpful.

The weather for this bit of the drive was shocking, very heavy rain. My thoughts at this point did turn to people climbing up Snowdon.

As we arrived in Bala the sun came out and it was lovely.

After lunch we headed out over the Evo and had a quick stop at the sportsmans arms to take some more pics. Getting into the car park was a struggle though.

A great weekend.

Wow, what a turn-out!!!

You had more help from the police than Japfest supporters did! Good idea to get them onside first:thumbs:

It just shows that despite internet activity (or because of it) people still like to get out in their cars and meet up/show them off.

Any more pics of the green car with black wheels?

How many people who use our site turned-out do you know?

There were quite a few from here Rob. The green car is Paul T. Hows this for zedication. His car was in having work done but wasnt finished. He took it out of the garage for the run. On the Friday morning he noticed his brakes were spongy so changed them. His starter motor then packed in so he took it out and played with it. No luck so he bump sarted it and had to everytime he stopped over the weekend. He also drove down from Aberdeen on the Friday night.

I will get some more pics of the Green machine.

I saw the green 350Z at chester services on Saturday afternoon, it looked absolutely fantastic.

Had a brief chat with the owner, seemed like a nice bloke.

Also saw a collection of 350s at the bottom end of the car park at chester services on Sunday. Are most 350s Blue????

Unfortunately did not have time to stop and chat on Sunday or take any pics.

Brings back some memories

Was on the PK Rally a few years back which started at Bala and IIRC finished at the Sportmans arms.

Trouble with navigating in that part of the country is trying to call the roads..... ie slot left in two hundred sign posted to er how the **** do you pronounce that!

Lol, it does seem that way doesn't it. The Azure colour was discontinued in 2006 incidentally. The 350z-uk forum does seem to have more than it's fair share of Azure's.

Azure Blue - great colour:thumbs:

Did most of my road rallies in Wales (early 70s), it really is a wonderful drivers country but watch out for speed cameras!

The police were very good and the feedback after the event was great. They told us that we were being watched and if we broke the rules we would be caught so everyone was aware of it. With the amount of cars it wasnt easy to get round the route so speeding wasnt really an issue.

The sprotsmans arms car park was just big enough but we may have to rethink for the ext one if its bigger.

I am very much hoping to get as many cars at zedfest so the younger guys can see some real zeds

Great idea. I noticed a distinct lack of 350s at Japfest (not just off our stand) - I suppose they were all on your run. Very few people are using 350s on track.

Yes Rob, it was a real shame that the dates clashed. A couple of the guys were on your stand I think.

We will try harder to get a date that allows us to attend next year.

I know what that's like, even when I'm pilot, only sometimes the navigator, with some of our Maori place names (nearly as hard to cope with as Welsh). Thank goodness well over half are good old English type place and street names. [sympathising emoticon] ;)
