Well I think you are doing the correct thing and having a reality check. I've seen it so many times, restoring one of these cars takes time, money, knowledge, tools and most of all motivation.

Yes you could store it for years but that is only worth doing if you have a definite plan. Who knows what the future holds for us?

Thats what worries me a bit. The uni i am at is having pay freezes, and i got an order from uni of cyprus that offers more money, but going there means dropping all my life so far here, it is also very expensive to transport the car there. But if i stay it could be very risky career wise and financially, but most life is here. I am just stressing over this quite a bit lately.

I do not know how much to sell...the car is in general not had, only the floor panels has some spots that need work, and i have taken out almost everything nasty from the car. I have replacement parts from techno toy tuning as well. The engine, turns over by hand, but needs work as i have removed the horrible og system. I have a protuners fuel rail to go on it. But needs some work. I was thinking 13k due to the parts and everything, and still i take a loss. Is that unrealistic??

My advice, shoukd you decide to sell, would be to sell some of the newer parts you've bought separately from the car if they're untouched.

It might help to list all the parts out with what you would sell them for and see if any members are interested.

Is it worth selling up now and buying something more roadworthy when time and your situation allows it?

Conversely is there an immediate rush to get rid of the project or can you afford to sit on it for a while whilst you determine what the future holds?

Many times I've grown exhausted of my car(s) and thought about packing it in, particularly when work takes up my time, but my enthusiasm tends to find a way back eventually.

Where are you located? Maybe you just need a friendly Z owner to come over and give you some tips, help and encouragement.

It can get overwhelming if you feel you've bit off more then you can chew and all you might need is someone to speak to and get you back on track.

I would prefer to sell the whole thing with the parts, and when my situation is better, cause it went downhill after I got it, I might get back into it. I think the enthusiasm got the better of me...

Just my opinion but if you need motivation or someone to give you motivation then it's time to 'move on'. Same with most aspects of live.

The mental strength and desire is the most important.

I sense a faltering?

Personally if your not having to pay any payments out each month for the car and you can dry store it without having to pay for storage then I would keep it and go back to it in a year or 2 not sure how old you are but things do change in life and most of the time we can stress and frett about things but that doesn’t help or change anything most of the time human nature always thinks on the bad side of things, but probably in years to come you may regret selling or you may be glad you held onto it maybe it’s not the car that’s stressing you but your job if the car is definitely what’s stressing you the get rid it’s only a car and not worth the stress it needs to be something to enjoy.
Good luck on your decision hope it all works out well one way or another 🤓

We differ in opinions.

That's ok.

Most cars I've seen that don't progress in 6 months, don't progress but deteriorate.

With projects you have to move things on every few weeks, any longer and they stagnate and you lose motivation.

Every point I heard is very valid. @Rob Gaskin you are absolutely right. The project has stagnated. I haven't lost motivation, but the situation does not help at all. Thank you all for your insights. I think I do a disservice to the car, and someone who has more skills, time, and $$ would do it justice. I will post for sale here first.

Please don't sell 😭. We need some Zs in the Kent area! Let me know if you want to catch up as I'm 20 mins from Canterbury.
