hi all.had a lot of work done to the z in last few months and can see it getting closer to being on road.however we hit a snag with fuel tank.there was so much gunk and **** in tank it wouldnt suck fuel from it.so tank has been removed.new fuel lines put in place, but the tank needs a really good clean out and also some bodger has put fibreglass matting over where the tank was leaking!!.hence im asking what would be best way to go.maybe get fuel tank sorted?.source another one?.or maybe go for an aluminium tank which could be welded into the back?.what would be the pros and cons of this?.cheers all

cheers jk..hartlepool is a long way from me though.im thinking of an aluminium tank in the boot.so i can have twin exhausts at a later stage for looks, but if not il look at getting this one repaired or trying to source a better one

Northgate Powder Coating in Waltham Abbey stripped and powder coated my tank for £80. They use a baking method that strips paint and everything inside an out.

Then I used Slosh from ebay and sealed it all inside.

Hmm, quite reasonable. Ah yeah I saw that when I was searching and thought it was that tank you'd had refurbed.
