You're joking ? Third party insurance and whatnot.....over here charity is not a get out of jail free card !

I've no idea what's involved in organising a race but plenty of people do track days and "banger racing" in this country.
So £500 might be a stretch but how much would realistically be needed?

A race implies timing and therefore competition.

Competition is not the same as a track-day !

Banger racing and the like comes under a different ruling in the UK, thank God. The elitist FIA and MSA are not involved. I'll have to ask my hot-rod friend for details.

I already do this folks, so you are finally coming round to my way of thinking then

What do you do and where Rob?

Actually Wes that was a light-hearted comment about my track-day car for those who know me and consider that I do things on a shoe string.

Just a bit of fun really but I do think that there is enjoyment to be had without spending a fortune.

However there is also satisfaction to be had if you do spend a fortune and the car and driver perform as desired, but that doesn't always happen.

Horses for courses.
