240ZG for sale

I remember us having a short exchange of communication about a possible "ZG" in the past, and I believed that you were referring to a car that I know was not a genuine factory ZG ( and wasn't even close )........... But you didn't have any pics or a description of it, did you?

Do you mean you were talking about this one, then? I'd certainly be interested to hear more now - if you know anything?

Who knows - it was white and for sale, that's about as far as we got. My lead went dry trying to find any further information.

Well, as far as I know from talking to the owner, this particular car was not up for sale in January 2007......

Next time I talk to him I'll ask more specifically about that, but the white car I thought you were referring to back in that old conversation was certainly not a proper ZG.

So maybe we were each talking about different cars? There wasn't much to go on, was there........?

It's easy - and quite natural - to be cynical about most of these mythical beasts that people talk about over the years. I've been shown a "1969 pre-production prototype 240Z" and a "genuine ex-Works Safari rally car" ( both so far from the truth to be sad rather than funny ), and even two "ex-Works rally cars" in a single auction that were both nothing like what they were described as being. I keep hearing about a phantom "Z432" that's apparently in a lockup somewhere ( somebody's auntie's milkman's brother "has seen it with his own eyes" ), and I can't discount the possibility that this might even be the 432-R replica that I'm building myself!

Never say never - but it's hard to believe them until you see them with your own eyes.
