240Z OEM radio

When I first bought my Z a long time ago 🥸, it had a modern CD radio fitted.

I was given this radio, see pic, and told it was the original. is it? If so, I'm thinking of going retro and fitting it, but what faceplate do I need to source as I dont have that.

If it's not the right one for my car, a 1973 UK 240Z, does anyone have one for sale that isn't going to cost me a kidney?

Thanks

That’s looks to be a cheap clarion radio. The originals for the car had a vertical switch on the RHS to raise the arial

Yes, I'd tend to agree with you. Was given to me with the car so I was hoping it was its original but not convinced.

A mere £1700 for this
I was conned as well 😢
I just put a blanking plate with a slit to hold my iPhone

I wonder if they really sell for this or are they listed at that price by chansers who end up over inflating the price for the common enthusiast.

Probably wouldn't be my first question no.

I like the original Z radio as it looks nice aesthetically however if I can't get one for a reasonable price I will just suck it up and move on.
