240Z Brake Upgrades.....

As I said Nick, I think you'll find that the discs are no longer available through Nissan or NISMO. However, you can use the Peugeot 505GTI disc with some slight modifications ( and I believe that DBA in Australia make an improved version of that? ).

Calipers themselves might need to come from a specialist in Japan. I always get them from the aftermarket now rather than Nissan or NISMO - but they are still manufactured by Sumitomo.

I also think you'll find that they are fairly expensive - which might put you off......... They retail at around 76,000 ~ 78,000 JPY a pair where I get them from ( although that includes good high-perf pads and a nice set of new bolts ).

$900<> Australian might be a tad expensive, but may be an interesting exercise.
Will have to see how much the Wilwood calipers are and if I can use 14"rims.
Don't want to use Toyota etc
May just improve standard.
Thanks again

Nick

Ouch :)
Bottom line is, Wilwood are still the bo**ocks for non-super Zs and are easy to bolt on - no DIYing with Range Rover this and Ford that, cutting brake pads to fit and the like !Not bad in the looks dept. but don't ask the Count to approve of 'em 'cos a) they come from the US and b) they aint period !
They are only bolt on because Dave has already done the drilling out for the caliper bolt holes, already drilled the new hole locations on the rotors to fit Z hubs and probably already altered the pads by cutting off the imposing tab and filing the area so as not to foul the retainer.

These pictures are from Graham Alexander's braking system during the EAS 2005. Mind you, they are not mine...
