1jz 240z conversion / restoration ish

I don't have the experience with either engines but do they come with gearboxes too at that price?

I did start looking down the 2JZ route, certainly a exciting prospect having that engine in the bay of a S30.

Those prices sound good for a complete engine. The 1jz manual box would be over 1k and the 2jz more than double.

That's just the engine no box obviously. I need an ecu and loom and gearbox but should have those sorted in next 3 weeks. Sorry to hijack.

What did you use for throttle cable? How is the 240 with the 1J? Handle ok?

I used the throttle cable and top of the soarer pedel. Fits perfect using existing mounting holes and by welding the top of the soarer pedel onto the datsun one you get to use the proper toyota cable fitting. Handling is superb with great turn in due to the position of the engine. Its very low in the enginebay and set a lot further back than the original.

Impressive Mark. Keep up the good work. Not sure how you managed to do the oversize lettering in your message. Don't suppose you could give a clue on how to post a Thread on the site? I have been fumbling through the drop-down menu's for some weeks but really can't work it out! I bought my first Z new when I was your age so hopefully you will appreciate my lack of 'connected' skills!
