Auto Express-Heroes Humbled (not) - 240Z vs Leaf. What?!

WTF. About as relevant as comparing a sausage to a goldfish.

This looks to be a decent example

Crikey. It's in Exeter too. Might have to go and have a look at that. Couple just gone up on eBay too. Suddenly there are S30s for sale everywhere.

    nice 240z for the summer

Personally I think it's a real testament to just how vulgar a beautiful car can be made to look, but each to their own! :D

    Front indicators

If it's just general discolouration / fading of the lenses it is surprising how well some of those plastic lens polishing kits can work.

    Domestic Garages - function?

The garage was a massive part of the reason I bought my house. It's pretty decrepit and needs a complete refurbishment including a new roof, but it has the potential to be an excellent little mannexe once that's done:

    fuel tank

Only an early one if I understand correctly what Mike is saying above. Also seems to have a lot of nozzles that my early 260 tank doesn't and is being sold alongside a LHD steering rack so I'm guessing it's an American one which'll need the additional connections blanking off as Mike mentioned...

    Japfest 2013 May

    Bloody Datsun.

Haha, oh dear. I can relate. We can have a Z bonfire.

Is this worth it? 1977 260z

What do you mean not worth it, Andrew? It's a "solid shell". Does yours not have those same ventilation holes in the rear quarters and valance? And invariably something along the lines of "we all know what these are worth" somewhere in the description. Groooaaaan. And why are the...

Is this worth it? 1977 260z

He's also now put it on carandclassic at £2500 datsun 260z For Sale (1977) on Car And Classic UK [C385153] The old advert where it was £1500 is only about 10 cars further down on the site. Gotta love the classic car market.

Quality of available repair panels for 240z

I have a nearside one of them. Quality is pretty ****, frankly. Would need plenty of beating to get it to fit right. I've turned out not to actually need it as it happens, but I dare say it would cost me twice as much to ship it as it does them, so probably couldn't get it to you much cheaper...

Is this worth it? 1977 260z

I would have to say that on balance, my Z has been broadly comparable to a woman in terms of time, money and pain the backside. *** for tat. Perhaps quite literally.

Is this worth it? 1977 260z

Can't get the dropbox link to work, but I recognise the description as I've seen the advert. To be brutally honest, it looks to be in a pretty wretched state and I would be very wary of what you could be getting yourself into. Even just what can be seen from zooming in on the pictures is...

    Dans 240Z

Yeah, I was thinking they'd need spacing out to fill those arches, especially as they have a small +ET, which I presume you don't want to do. Finding the right wheels is a nightmare.

There was one on eBay recently which might still be there, there is one here in the classifieds which I think may fit, and I think Mike keeps them.

    29k Z

Nice to know I can't be completely barking up the wrong tree if someone such as yourself agrees, Duncan. I've been watching Zed prices for a while now and, the stupid ones excepted, there seems to have been two maior category of car that regularly came up for sale in the various internet...
