Update on this 240Z.
Still haven’t actually seen it myself due to lockdown and storage at home, but should be with me in the next couple of weeks. It’s been well looked after by a company I know well who collected it for me (and knew the previous owner as they prepared a rally Triumph TR4 for him).
They gave it a good check over and has passed an MOT without any advisories, although they’ve advised that I could done with replacing the engine mounts and steering outer tie rods (all ordered for next week).
They’ve confirmed that the car is in great condition and everyone who’s seen it has loved it - great!
The shell has had some welding underneath but all done properly and neat as you’d hope.
As I’m tall (6’4”) they’ve already moved the fire extinguisher and battery from behind the drivers seat for me so I can play with seats and seating position when I get it home.
They say it sounds lovely and the gear change is brilliant, short and precise, and the engine has loads of power and torque. Can start from 2nd and change to 5th - so I may need to look at axle ratios, or it’s just a very good torquey engine.
The steering is good, but still on forest tyres so will need to see once I put road/track tyres on if it needs any assistance. Hopefully it’ll be okay without needing to add EPS.
The previous owners co-driver is a Datsun fan and has sent me some pics of the car which I’ll share.
Cheers.
