No. The rims of these wheels hit the tension arms on the front. I think it needs 8 1/2 or 9 inch wheels on the front
room at the back of the engine, should I fit a drain?

reading about crank pressure blowback.... ie that happens more than actual draining.....Absolutely fit a head drain! Can only be done with the engine out/head off. No brainer dude!

Really nice job you’re doing here and the car looks really solid! Interesting that the STI rack is a possibility, will add that to the list of potentials. Is it a similar ratio to the S30 rack?
There are different lock to ratios available, I've gone with a JDM only 2.2 lock to lock witch might be too much, these are harder to get. The 2.6 or 2.75 are cheaper and fitted to UK STI's they are close to stock S30. The US cars had a "slower" rack than UK ones
just think about trying to park an S30...
yes, it's all coming apart againI presume the rack is all coming apart again otherwise you have forgotten to fit the rack bellows and track rod locknuts.
As has been documented on another thread, I have built a similar p/s setup using a 1999 Subaru Forester rack which I think was a 2.75. The early WRX racks are also compatible with the right adaptations to the track rods.
