new classified system is poor.

You might be happy, and that’s up to you, however you will not impose your "happiness" upon me despite your exuberant posts.

Good day sir.

I'm not trying to impose anything on anybody sunshine ;), I did say that I didn't like the for sale section myself, But for other reasons than your complaint, So do as I did and speak to the admin privately about your concerns rather than dragging this sorry subject up on a weekly basis.

Haven't you got better things to be doing with your time like screwing another nano second out of your 1/4 mile times or something ? ;).

You might want to get this checked out, I can't see it, I've just been down the whole 1st page of the for sale page, I don't know if anyone else has this problem

I put an add up and it got approved but I've never been able to find it lol, I some people can see it because I got a mail from some nice gent offering me the item I was after, I emailed him back but haven't heard anything yet, I suppose it might be helpful if I could see my add but I'll never know :(.

Rant

I can understand the commitee is suffering from "moaning member fatigue syndrome" and I'm sorry that my few posts have added to that.

However -

As a paying member, surely I should choose whether I want my advert to stay within membership circles for 7 days or not. The current situation might be justified as a member benefit if you are buying, but it is of no benefit as a seller (or if you want an item). This should be addressed, if it isn't I'll start to question other so called "member benefits" in a seperate thread.

I've not used the classifieds much until recently, so don't know if Mr Burns' has knobbed it up "testing" things, or if it has been like it for ages. As I stated in my first post, when I placed an advert it asks me questions which don't even appear in the advert - like my phone number. I now realise that it doesn't even state a price and just says "best offer" - this is bollocks, a clearly wanted a certain figure for each item. Now it isn't even loading up the photos I added.
Can this be sorted out asap please :), I would like to think that my money - or at least some of it - goes into having a good usable web-site.

So pretty please, with sugar on top - fix the ****ing classifieds.

Hooray, back in the land of the living. Okay, before my latest sabatical (to do with work/my job) I was going to post up an announcement to officially confirm the decisions made regarding the 'for sale' section. It's pretty comprehensive and I'll do it tonight so as to put any ideas of conspiracy to bed.

We have made changes because either 'website members' were abusing the right to advertise items

Name & shame them I say, abusing the right to advertise what exactly does this mean ? All we where doing was providing a service for high quality hard to find parts & complete cars to anyone searching for such items. Guess members will just have to look elsewhere in future.

It is such a shame also to learn that several long standing S30 enthusiasts are moving away from this site :(.

Gwyn. Your getting messages about wheels that aren't even yours!
Robs advert can't be seen only heard ?.
Tee's sounds a royal f*** up!

That's what you get for being a set of clever silly knobs!!

Don't bother blasting me as I couldn't give a shit.

You can please some of the People some of the time.....

From my understanding the original system was modified due to complaints and suggestions by paid up members because they were not getting the first refusal on listed parts.

They were of the opinion that after contributing to the site they should be able to have first dibs on the parts available.

If you couldnt give a shit, why you complaining?

Always the saints - you forget you were making money from the site and bypassinig potential EBay fees. Or do you complain to EBay about those as well?

Nah that's what YOU get for not understanding the way the forum works! People will only see NEW ads on the front page, ie ones they've not looked at yet. If you post an advert then you've seen it, it isn't new. If somebody replies to that advert (on the forum) then yes it will be seen, since it contains NEW posts.

Don't bother apologising as I couldn't give a shit. Just quit slagging everything off.

I'll 2nd that, spect pmac will 3rd it, Sean 4th it, DJ 5th it, Will 6th it, etc etc.

See above!

TBH I'm getting completely ****** off with all this pissing and whinging. Would you care to think what would happen without the committee? Lets see:

The hosting bill doesn't get paid - consequence the site goes down (where will you sell then?)

If the bill gets magically paid, the forum software doesn't get fixed when it gets broken (where will you sell then?)

The forum-less Club gets membership applications which don't get processed - their money goes nowhere.

Events and meets no longer happen - enjoy your car by yourself, have fun!

etc etc etc

If something is broken then I will do my best to fix it but do it by the right channels please. Burning the committee at the stake will get you nowhere.

As a website member only can I still see my own advert if decide to sell anything?
I might want to buy it back off myself but under the current system won't be able to.

As said in a previous post paid up members will have to look else where for parts now won't they ? there won't be any first dibs cos the main sellers are gone. Also by this lot on here being so stupid for a change deleting a thread I had started it has put a stop to a good supply of rust free panels + more entering the country so you'll have to go out there & get your own now.

After a week yes it will be visible. Anything posted by website members is offered to Club members first for a week then opened up to all. However when your advert is approved and moved to the members area, the advert is amended to add that it would be best to contact you via PM with any queries etc

Ok sorry my bad.

Rephrased. I couldn't give a shit to the powers that be.

I would love to know the ratio of those who have started paying full up and the actual members gone/going down to this.

Fair enough, you're entitled to your opinion. Feel free to come to the AGM and vote them all out.

Membership is up so go figure ;) Oh and the number who've paid up then immediately announced they are leaving, well that's just strange really

I think the problem was (and is on other sites) that certain people utilise the site to their own ends, they have no intention of contributing but are happy to use the bandwidth to pocket a few quid. Many sites do not allow non paid up members to even sell at all. I can see both sides of the arguments. For instance if i missed out on buying a rare part (as a paid up member) to someone that signed up just to get the part, I would start to think why the hell do i bother paying up.

Ebay charges to sell. On here you can all still advertise for free, so you are getting more exposure for no extra cost. If your parts do not sell on ebay in 7 days, you then get the opportunity for your ad on here to be put out to a wider audience.

If there is a good supply of rust free parts, why can you not sell them?

I guess the club is just that.. a club. It is not a compare type website that gets a fraction of any transactions, it is there to provide a service to its members (Customers really) and this is just an attempt to secure the availability of those parts to its members.

The only thing that would be better was if non paid up members could see their own ads, that would make sense really.

I paid up to view your wheels ;).

So did I lol was quite happy until I saw the price!

Is this the first issue thats come up here, I'm fairly new but it sounds like some peeps have a personal beef with admin!

Maybe another vote that everyone actually knows about could solve this..?

Some people have beef with the admin I guess. Same with anything in life, not everyone will be happy with the system. You really can not please everyone all the time.

People bob along when they are happy but when changes arise they want to be heard I guess.

The admin never try and make changes to wind folk up, they try and act in the best interests of the club and 9 times out of 10 on member feedback, but when changes are made not everyone agrees. If only everyone could read of the same song sheet, unfortunately not everyone will always agree.

To view your own ads is simple, go to:

Main Index - Z Club Classifieds

In the upper orange bar you will see "My Ads" - click on this and anything you have advertised will be there (if you're a website member and its not been up for 7 days you won't be able to see it)
