Windscreen rubber

Hello - does anyone know where you can order a replacement windscreen rubber seal for a 260Z? And can a new seal be fitted without taking the windscreen out?

Otherwise, is it possible to effectively waterproof an existing seal with a sealant? To do this, would you lift the edge of the seal where it meets the glass with a knife then squirt the stuff inside?

As you may have gathered, I think I have found the source of the waterleak into my footwells - the bottom corner of the windscreen on both sides!

Any advice appreciated.

If the rubber is damaged it is best to replace it. The screen has to be removed. 240 and 260 all the same rubber. If the rubber is sound you could try to get some sealant under the lip.
Don't know suppliers in UK. Someone will.

Thanks for that. Does the windsxreen come out fairly easily or is there a danger of it breaking? Presumably autoglass or some such place could do it. If the glass should break, are new windsxreens available and if so what sort of cost? Also, Mike, how much for a Nissan windscreen seal?

If you have a new rubber, then sacrifice the old one by cutting round it with a Stanley knife or similar. That way no undue force will be applied to the fragile upper corners. That will also be the area to be careful with on installation...
There are some new screens available currently - they seem to appear in batches.

New Nissan OEM weatherstrip, MJP discount price £99.37 + VAT.

I know a windscreen fitter in Stockport he should be able to cut out the old rubber and fit a new one for you give me a call and i will pass on his contact number.

As for new windcreens i bought a new one from PMac on this forum and he had a few in stock.

Are you sure? I seem to remember the 2+2 part number being different when I was looking around before.

Inner fit to the screen is the same, outer shape differs in the upper corners. Definitely two different part numbers in both OEM and pattern markets...
