Don't want to talk about what I do (safety equipement), all I know is I need to escape from where I am asap, keep telling myself a job is a job at the mo, then I think not this f**ker :(, never ever been so low, this beats the days when I was a courier doing 3,000 miles a week by a very long way. Question how do you get the biggest t**t you ever met in you life within a company that employs 7 people ? Answer I have no idea. I know every company has a t**t but not on the scale of this f**ker though, even within a company that employs 300 + people. I'm a jack of all trades master of non as they say, willing to travel or relocate within the uk if right offer comes along.

My part time job is probably way more interesting than the 9-5 NHS Dietitian.
No use to anyone but I also work as a Doping Control Officer. Basically drug testing sports men. If they've played in the UK I may have tested them.

Some of the nicest guys on TV are the worst in real life and Vice Versa. I've only done the job for 3 years so have met a limited number of people. However some of the guys have been testing 20 years and have the best stories! Not particullarly good pay but how many people get paid to watchsport and then hang out behind the scenes?!

It's not all glamour! We test at all levels and a low division rugby team mid week in the rain in the dark Welsh Valleys is not much fun!

I had a similar T**t in a compnay that had 4employees!! He was not impressed when I made a fake beard from a peice of foam, glasses out of cable ties and walked into a high security MOD office doing an impression of him. When I returned to the office his words were.. "Terry Clarke actually took the trouble to phone me up and tell me YOU were doing spitting image puppet impressions of me" I worked there for 9 years but I have 9 years worth of funny tales to tell...thats the only way I could cope with it.

Gwyn,

Can you actually talk with your boss re this guy ?

Put things into perspective - you're that low that you can allow a twat like this to get to you - if you felt stronger, you'd just laugh, work on your doorstep, take the money each month, love your family and drive yer effing Z.

NO it is very unusual & complicated  guy up boses arse !!

The only reason I keep going there is to keep our heads above water, not fun.

Communication is king.......talk to your boss that you're not happy - if he's any good, he won't be impressed by your 'mate' - he might be letting it ride because it doesn't stir the water ! If he IS impressed by him and doesn't want to hear your side - at least you'll know for sure, keep working and start seriously looking for something else.

To be depressed because of one colleague is not acceptable - change the situation - take control of YOUR life.

Thanks Sean. I will try to pm you full details sometime over the weekend, then you will fully understand the situation I am in. You are so right I need to take control of my life & get away from this twat, but there is nowhere to run at the moment.

Can you take some time off ? If so, get a Ryan Air flight over here, borrow my Z and enjoy some open roads - do me a bit of UK food shopping and you can stay for free.

You need some space to think cleary - you're in too deep - all you can see atm is gloom and the next days' work !

Sean is right Gwyn, I know how you feel... I didn't get out in time and ended up having breakdown...seriously it was wierd to say the least...I won't go into the details but I ended up being signed off work and given some happy pills....the pills went in the bin and after a week I started to feel better....It was at that point I decided enough was enough...I still remember the look on his face when I told him I wasn't coming back to work.... I had 9 people working under me at that point on a site in Portsmouth that I had spent 3 years on, so he was not happy lol. I started my company with a mate of mine which was OK but hard work for a few years... I then decided to work in America for a few years which was a good move as I needed to get away and sort my head out after a messy seperation with one of my Ex's :) I moved back in 2001 and have worked for myself since..... It takes a while to build a good customer base, the most important tool in my Van is Henry...its the only thing that anyone ever notices... I always make sure I leave the place spotless....they don't have a clue that my fibre polishing is spot on and the Db loss is minimal :) but they always comment on how clean I leave it.
I'd say do what you are good at, what you find easy not what you love doing. Tell them you can do anything even if you're not sure, then figure it out....thats what I always do and it seems to work.
I would take Sean up on his kind offer and give yourself some space and time to think it through... I've only met him for a short period of time but I can assure you he is a very genuine and kind guy.
Right where is my bottle of JD

I was in Holland, trapped in a job after being divorced and stuffed by two fighting bosses who decided that I was the common enemy and just being poorer each month. The new boss knew that I needed the job to keep my (then required) work and therefore residents' permit so he kept promising me a permanent contract but giving me 3 months so I only got 3 months permits - can't rent a flat on that, can't have any credit to buy a flat or even a decent car on that to get to work.....when I decided to leave, he was all over me but when you make the decision to leave (like when I left the UK), you feel great, a real weight lifted, you feel untouchable, bullet-proof so I told him 'no' in many more words and left.
I arrived in France with nothing but some crap furniture, some clothes and a rusty, worn out Z and 20kgs less than now. I found a job within 2 months (just at the right time and place) and never looked back.

Do something but life is short and we're here to enjoy ourselves (although not at the expense of others).

Thanks Simon - I expect to see you too over here soonish.

Not now though - atrocious weather !
