V8 240z

I have some other wheels but for the moment I want to get the mechanics under control then move on to the cosmetics plus they are pretty big wheels to be replacing when they are well booted at the moment. 16 x 245
Still its agreat car and I consider myself lucky to have it. I will be hoping to make it to Le man next year with some 911 buddies in tow. So a year to get the bugs sorted.

It will be fun I am sure? Tickets is the easy part. competing with 4 wheel drive might be a bit harder...

Black Bug I'd be inclined to start of with a larger Cheers said:

If you say so ! One can always pay loads or end up with a lousy site.......

And personally, Scoobies and Quattros don't scare me anymore !

I will come to you for some advice nearer the time Sean as I have noticed from previous forums you seem to know your onions as it were.
Anyway thanks again for the input. Pic of Baby Blue car coming up....

There is also the matter of the exhaust headers although custom the Driver side header still runs close to the steering coupling so much so it has scored it. I was wondering if anyone else had this problem and had overcome it?

In all seriousness:

Forget about the hot running problem and the colour scheme for now. You need to sort out the DANGEROUS engineering first.

How did it pass an MOT with the steering shaft rubbing on an exhaust manifold like that? It should not even be on the road.

I know jack-s**t  but I listen to others, discuss, have made mistakes and have strong opinions...but I'm often wrong......

The Count is right though - if you're gonna drive the beast - do it in safety ! I always thought that the car was well conceived, then not so well, and then remember that we seem to be more exact these days, less prone to accepting second best and I think your car needs some serious attention.

ps I have a few photos of it from the Swiss Trip in '91 when I get around to scanning them.

Thanks Sean, Your concerns are noted, and the pics would be good to see when you get chance. The original invitation for suggestions were more in a 'how to improve' rather than a 'Oh my god the wheels are falling off'. Before anyone gets too exited the car drives great. There is no contact between the exhaust header and the steering. When I said " There is also the matter of the exhaust headers although custom the Driver side header still runs close to the steering coupling so much so it has scored it. I was wondering if anyone else had this problem and had overcome it? I should have said " Looks like its scored it ". as I have no proof it has. The statement was designed to paint a picture and insight creative response, perhaps jog the memory of those who remember the car from club events and may have more knowledge of what work has been done. I am confident that neither Mr F nor Phil would pass on something they felt dangerous without mentioning it. I do not feel that the Mot is anything but legitimate. I am simply aiming to make some improvements where possible. Thanks again for the input guys.
