triple webers

Jets? now your asking...can vary so much depending on cam/exhaust etc.
My old 2.8 had this setup 36 mm chokes
145 mains
195 air corrector
f11 emulsions
f9 55 idle jets

n42/n42, dished pistons, 2mm skimmed head. 0.6mm steel head gasket. DJR360 CAM, ported and polished. performance exhaust system.

Ok, well I just told him it was for 260z engine, I'll have to get it set up on the rolling road anyway, and asked him for the ball&joint linkage,

so all I need now is manifold, rubber mounts, linkage and filters!

Manifold ? A NISMO one !

For info, my Dellortos were a set of two and a third one came along and they work fatastically (with ball-joint and links) - cables are SO prehistoric !

well the exhaust manifold will be staying the same for the moment,

its the intake manifold I need. I remeber a few months back seeing loads of second hand ones on ebay, now that I want one there's none!!

The fella I bought the carbs off said the ball&joint was more popular one so I went with that

Jay.

IMO cables are much better, no slack like with messy linkage setups.

"Messy" linkages ? Are we on the same planet ? Do cables stretch, fray and break ? Definitely 'out' !

I've noticed NO slack with my linkages - if you have in the past I suggest that they were worn and shouldn't be compared !:)

slack, fray, Break? we are talking about controlling a butterfly in a carb not brakes on an old neglected push bike!

So if linkages are so good why do all modern cars use cables?

I agree with Sean on this one for a change :D , I think rod linkage is better  but at the end of the day it is each to their own, as with most things in life. ;)

Modern cars use fly by wire so it gets rid of all aspects of failures. No slop in my balls or linkages either!

Damn - I was going to say that ! Back to cables then...... !

Lets not get into another 3.1 style debate :D ....cable is far better.....bits of old rods and balls connected to an old carb that chucks fuel into an engine like the shake and vac woman sprinkles cleaner on her carpet. C'mon! maybe we should fit leaf springs and a solid rear axle while we are at it.

Do Ford Capris use cables then ?

Rod linkage is better, in fact anything is better than cable if you have ever had a cluch cable snap or carb cable on a m/bike you'll know what I mean.

Anyone serious about triple carbs have fitted linkages, ever since the first S30 rallye and circuit cars - it IS a fact !;)

Yeah, like everytime the torque of you 3.1 pulls you engine over to one side your linkage moves with it.
I'll give you that cable is no good for clutch use the same way you wouldn't want to use cables for brakes on a car but like I said, moving a butterfly on a carb would never cause a modern steel or nylon cable to break.

Stay in the dark ages with your rods and balls :)
