Top Gear - Chris Evans

Really dont like Chris Evans at all......... dont think he is car person! The man is a Ferrari Collector and golf enthusiast, not a car enthusiast.

The show is more about how they interacted with each other and the other 3 have had years to get it right. Look at the classic car show that Jodie Kidd does, its utter rubbish, because they dont interact very well.

Just waiting for the "next" announcement, that Clarkson is starting "house of cars"

I dunno, a lot of people were suggesting Guy Martin when it all kicked off and others (and I think someone on here) suggested Chris Harris and that would be awesome, because in my opinion Chris Harris is the best serious car video presenter around right now, but Guy Martin would add a nice helping of 'batsh*t crazy' to the mix!

But, knowing the BBC, it will probably be Clare Balding and Nick Grimshaw.
 
Top Gear wasn't a car show... it was a sitcom about three blokes arsing around with cars and its success was down to the chemistry between the three. It was entertainment, not information. Evans will give it a good go but TG as the massive earner for the BBC it was is dead I think. Guy Martin would be good, and maybe Chris Harris, but TG without Clarkson, Hammond and May isn't TG. It needs a new name. Good luck to the new presenters though - they're going to get slated by a lot of TG 'fans' no matter how good they are!
 
For those old enough to remember lets not forget that the original presenter of Top Gear was Angela Ripon in the late 70's! Jeremy came along a little later.
 
Bring back William Woollard and Tony Mason .... but not Quentin Wilson.....

I think Chris Evans + Guy Martin + Jodie Kidd would be worth a watch .

Tony Mason (I liked him), Rowan Atkinson (who doesn't need the money but'll have fun) and the bimbo blonde to interview the wallys in their boring saloon car....

Rob - I agree, what I was trying to point out (poorly) was how boring the original was compared with what Clarkson transformed it into. The original feels like an "infomercial" compared with the new!!

I really hope they come up with new format ideas as opposed to replicating. The chemistry of the trio cannot be recreated, ergo the US top gear!!
 
Lets have a new format. Chris Harris and Tiff Nidell for there sheer enthusiasm and the inevitable track battles and, Chris Evens for his Wit and Fun Personality.
Please no Blowing up Caravans and Non car Rubbish.
