Spoke to Sean tonight and the good news is the lump has gone down and he is being discharged from hospital tomorrow

Nothing is showing up on the tests to give an inclination of what caused it but the results of the biopsy arn't due back untill later this week

He was touched when i told him about all the messages you have all sent and he will be back on line after he has fully recovered as he stilll being weaned of the medication

Glad to see he is on the mend even if they can not tell him yet what caused it. It was probably due to all the stress of putting on the french trip we all enjoyed so much...
Get better soon Sean..

Thankyou all of you for your best wishes, those who've posted, thoose who've called and those who just thought about it !

French hospitals ARE great, the food I was served at the first hospital was 'mushy' but then, I couldn't open my mouth more than a couple of cms at the most. Proper menus were served at the second one when I was improved (they come around the evening before with a choice on a computerised 'pocket-book' and order them direct !

And I cannot fault the treatment and efforts to discover what caused my situation - x-rays, scans, IRM scan, echo-dopplers of the head and liver, blood tests and of course the biopsy (see photo for the proof that Ive been keeping my eye on you all).......

The morphine messed me up (I welcomed it at the time....) and had to recover from that and although now home and resting I'm on cortisone for 2 1/2 months. I have an appt in two weeks time to discuss the results of the last tests performed but I think we'll never know WHY I had the temporal muscle inflamed !

Don't take your (or anyone else close to you) health for granted I think is the moral here !

Thanks again - your friend, Sean
