Steve, face it, you were a spoilt brat !

I had a home-built go-kart that could seat 3 or even 4 at a push and steered by two toggles and ones' feet on the 'steering rack' ! Do you remember racing down West Wickams' Tesco high-rise car-park ?

No go-karts, but I had a ride-on double decker London bus when I was three.

Somewhere there's a photo...

Posh gits! I built my own too! feet on steering rack, hands on string, roll off braking (roll off the kart if you were going to hit something!) state of the art spoked pram wheels, specially designed cussioning to improve ride and performance (a bit of old carpet) and many many spelks!

Fun times!

I always meant to fit a wooden block hand brake type braking system to it... :)

Have you got big breath then ?

I had a handbrake and two wooden chairs with arms, cut down and nailed in place, in fact, Smart bought the rights off me to create their open sided model ! Never got around to fitting a roll cage though ! The kart measured 6'6"" long !

bicycle wheels and tyres at the rear (basic air-cushioning) and the 'bespoke' state of the art pram wheels at the front for streamlining - what laughs ! Have to build Jules one !

Never managed to master that I was never quick enough to to roll off
just used to sit on and use the trees and the parkie as the brake system

The parkie then banned me from going into the park for some reason

I remember parkies - they used to fill in all the camps I used to dig / build !

But hitting trees when younger would explain many things Steve.........

they were horrible one even came round to my house and accused me of setting fire to the bushes in the park
all I was doing was trying to see how long you could leave lighter fuel in a trail before it evaporated and testing it for a science project
looked pretty though:eek:

I remember lighter fuel - you could squirt Swans' on your arm and light it without burning - the girls sceamed and we all went home satisfied :) !
