How would you spend £100K on a Z?

"if the plan had have been solid in the first place and not a moveable feast as they continued their build" who's plan is anything other than a moveable feast ?

Great idea for the article and yes, definitely DO NOT concentrate on figures - SOOOOOOO boring and not at all relative, especially as the cars were personalised and done nearly 15 years ago !

Tough one that, it'd either be a 350Z on carbs with full nismo brakes and suspension, carbon fiber flip front with custom wide body and one hell of a good alarm.

or

A 240Z converted to Skyline twin turbo power with the outside kept looking pretty standard but mechanically amazing. 12inch carbon discs with 6 pot calipers etc etc

I have never seen the ACTUAL cars but the pictures on the wall in Geoff's office look seriously impressive..[/quote]

As this thread has been resurrected - I had not seen the cars a year ago and have still only seen one now - deep red, cream leather interior, roof lining, turrets, seats, luxurious carpets, the lot. Wooden gear knob, heater control panel, steering wheel and under the bonnet.......

A canted, crossflow engine........ I believe (please don't shoot at me anyone) it is an LY engine, certainly it is very special.

These cars were done well, very well indeed. The feel of this car was much more of an upmarket gentleman's Gran Tourer than an out and out hooligan's car like a Samuri but it obviously still goes like s h 1 t because of the engine.

I took a load of pictures but whether it is acceptable to post pictures without the owner's permission I don't know. Can someone from the committee give me a guide please ?

If you can hold back for now...................all will be revealed :)

Afterwards I'd still seek permission from owner.

Mucho thanks.

cool - thanks for the nudge, I would have completely ruined it by posting lots of pictures up here :D unintentionally of course.

Will post them after the mag is out

John Talyor
is THAT the owners' name ?

The cars cost BIG money because of the level of finishing, panel fit etc, not because they're better (power, handling etc) than cars being built now.

I prefer the green one :) ! But don't like the spoilers on either or the wheels !

Its
James Taylor

Not frank Tolyar or Colin Tlayor or Brian Tayorl

James Taylor
Manages Duran Duran, didnt play or sing, just manages.

I'd give a 2000 Z32 SWB Manual (targa top) to Chip Foose and let him do whatever the hell he wanted with it! As long as he put a supercharged Hemi in there too ;)

The man is a styling God in my eyes

Hee, hee, silly me and I only went to Switzerland with him and awarded him a prize at Goodwood '92 (after Burnsie and I stung him for 5 years worth of club membership). He's really an Aston fan but I heard that he's on the fringe of their club too !

Oh I see, you two are "mates" then:rolleyes:

Well next time he is over for coffee ask him how come his cars are so slow and would he like me to build him a proper engine, Oh and can I have a signed photo of the band please, for my wife of course:eek:

Don't start me off - you didn't 'build' yours ! Define build ?
And his cars are quick - but define quick ?

Just because you've got down the 400m in less time than you had before doesn't mean you should criticise those who were modding Zs nicely 15 years ago !

Now go and pull someone elses' chain ;)

I saw both road cars at the NEC soon after they where built, they are incredible, they where along side Fourways Aston's & Ferrari's and most certainly did not look out of place, the finish was amazing. I preffered the green one, but then I have never seen the racer in the flesh, I think if I did I would have to have it!!!, only seen it in the photo's. These are by far the best Z's I have ever seen, they must be the finest in the world.
