Agree with you Derek on the Labour Goverment think. If they get in again it's just going to get much worse!
!
You shouldn't have voted them in in the first place, coz as they say "better the devel you know".

I got my free bus pass now. Anywhere in the uk for nuffink. Bugger road tax I'm going by bus.

You got any nice motors for sale then ? I agree with your comments tax on fuel & have thought this for years put the road tax on fuel, so the more miles you do the more you pay, that way you can have say ten cars that you don't use & only pay road tax when you do use them, but I guess even if they brought that in they would find another way to rip us off !! P.S. if it was brought in I guess the pre 73 cars would have reduced fuel bills :D:D:D The way things are going at the mo thinking of using my 37 yr old 240 as daily transport.

It was the left over here that introduced zero road tax ! You all get paid too much - that's why they tax you !
I pay NOTHING but a control every two years (five years for classic cars) except petrol which is cheaper than yours anyway ! Join Europe !
Just got my insurance through for 3 Zs - £113 for the year !

Hi,
You don't really think that the hamster faced, push bike riding David Cameron is going to help the motorist do you?...especially when he realises how much tax can be bled out of them, without messing with income tax!
The 'historic vehicle' tax class was only introduced by the old Tory party to keep the toff MPs like Alan Clarke happy, so he could drive his vintage Bentleys to and from his Castle without having to pay!
They didn't do it to keep a few rusty old Datsun owners happy!:D
All political Party's will jump on the Green bandwagon now, despite what they may say, as it's an easy way to tax the plebs!

They'll probably pan petrol completely in France, as they all drive eco oil burners over there!

looking at the figures my daily drive at present is a pre 2000 mercedes i was going to change it next year for a 2005/6 model but looking at the cost of tax i think i might go and buy a 1985 ford escort and pay £125 per year tax, this government bleeds enough tax out of us now i'm not giving them anymore than i have to.

I pay NOTHING

To support this argument then Sean you must work for nothing!

We need the high wages (are they high compared to France?) to give to the government so that they can waste it on anything but the motorist.

On the subject of 'rip off'' UK, car parks are also too much!

I bought myself a cheap van and park it in loading bays or on single yellows all day at work. If I get one parking ticket every four days, I've saved money!

So far so good, as I've only had two tickets since November. In fact the money I've saved in the last five months has actually paid for the van and then some! And I get to work quicker in the 'no car' lanes! How bad am I?!
