Hi all,

I was just wondering if anyone has seen or heard of zg flares on a 2+2, I was thinking of getting carbon fibre flares along with new wheels and lowering the car but not sure how it would look being a 2+2

Cheers,
Jay

That does look cool! You're right about it taking down the length (visually) Rob. Looks like a sportscar again.

I have always thought the back window messed up the look of the car....here is a very rough photochop of how I think it would look better.

...and if you're gonna widen the arches then a nice new set of R.S. Watanabe '8 spoke' with a neg offset is a must! Give it that classic sports look (almost hotrod!) Oooh yeah...

yeah to fit the zg flares perfectly you want 9" front with -13mm offset and 9.5" rear with -19mm offset

where can you get those watanabe wheels from? the type r's are lovely with a black centre and polished lip!!!

I wonder if I tinted the small back window would I get the same effect??

I was also told that the front flares have to be slightly modified to fit around the 260z bumper!

I can't agree - it loses some Z 'muscle' look and even ressembles a 280ZX 2+2 !

But I do agree with the flares and what Rob says !

Nothing whatsoever but I prefer my Zs to look like Zs and ZXs to look like ZXs. I also don't like my Zs OR ZXs to look like anything other than Zs or ZXs - ie no Ferrari or 'Vette lookalikes......!

If you squint a bit (and cover from the back of the front wheel arch to the front) when you chop that out it resembles a Hillman Avenger. You can't wanna acheive that look! The 260 2+2 is a superb example of great Jap design (with 4 seats!). I'd leave it as that C shape is superb and looks pretty manly as it cuts back towards the centre rather than trailing off like an afterthought. I take it then Mr Dézart is none too keen on the Evel Kneivel Z. That was pretty stingray looking. I like it but then I like all cars. Especially ones that work!
