What Zeds came with a Z logo in the key?
My 240 hasn’t n neither has a 260 key I have, yet I have a 280zx (door) key n that has a black Z logo imprinted into it.
Was it a later only model option?

he is bloody right again:bow:
just had a look at my key its shame though as I thought it was a Z
just goes to show you see what your mind wants you to see

a bit odd when you look at the backside of the key the N is the wrong way round

Before you chucked out your old engine, you might have noticed it had a six-letter word beginning with N on top of it.........

All of 'our' cars were made in the Nissan Shatai factory at Hiratsuka Japan by Nissan Jidosha: Nissan Motors Ltd. They were sold in Export markets as 'Datsun' products - but they were Nissan products.

The 'N' key existed in use on Nissan products long before the S30-series Z was launched in 1969.

I knew all that, not
Just testin ya lol :D

So the Z logo on my Datsuns rear Q panels is also actually an N on the pi55 aswell

240n ....... just doesn't sound the same to me :D

Oh come on now Albrecht..........you know it was just a secret logo ,that was a Z or an N depending how you held the key !:p
Hold it sideways for a second.....there it is, a Z ! lol.;)
Holding it sideways for a second is a good way to enjoy the car too ! If you catch my drift. ( no pun intended:confused:)
Vinny

Ok then where did the letter Z come from why did they not use the letter N for Nissan or D for Datsun or F Fairlady

The new datsun 240N - 240D - 240F its got a ring to it !!

Why start at the back Z start at the front A ?

I think it is well documented where the 'Z' tag came from, and why.

With regard to the 'N' keys - check the dates on this Nissan parts list scan:

But the question has been raised, inferring that this 'well-documented' information hasn't filtered down :)

Could it have stemmed from a subtle use of 'N' for Nissan ? A bit precocious of Nissan to have given the car an 'ultimate' status with the 'ultimate' letter of the Roman alphabet !

I think they key trick was a secret "Z" salute amongst owners so they could identify each other in public without looking like they were showing off :)

Yeah, I like that one - better than tossing your Austin keys (with the Porsche key-ring) onto the bar top :D !

'course, we're rather rare in Europe so it aint often that the Z Mason key wave is seen !

OK, I have a N key... But why do I have a 710 oil cap ?????????:D
