Hi all,

Im currently bidding an a set on fender mirrors, I think they look well in picturs but ive never actually seen them on a car in person...Was wondering if anyone has seen a 240 or 260 with these...and what your general opinion on them, yes or no?

Jay

Looks are down to individual taste.

As far as using them is concerned from my memory they give a small field of view and are hard to adjust from inside the car!

The original idea was that they can be used without diverting your eyes too much. In practice they are not very efficient.

I think that they look great.....on other peoples' cars ! If you want the Japanese street look - they're essential - look at Boomers' photos of his yellow one for the look !

The other way of thinking is that they spoil the clean bonnet line !

I like the look of them myself, think they look very old school...........as for practicality they probably dont work as well as normal wing mirrors but I live out in the country and wont be doing much motorway or in town driving so not too worried about the view from them.........think I'll up my bid a bit!!
Thanks

Jay.

Well I was outbid today anyway..........so I'll have to continue my search!!

I would agree with Dave that they look great - but then I'm biased due to putting my car back to more faithful FairladyZ spec - I will likely be fitting JDM fender mirrors next winter.

On the issue of usefulness and limited field of vision, that doesn't bother me much - my car is currently fitted with bullet door mirrors - you can't see out the passenger side one at all from the driving position and have to lean over towards the door somewhat to see out the driver's side! Wing mirrors can't be too much worse than that - thank heavens the rear view mirror has a great field of vision and the quarter glass gives you a good view over your shoulder!
