Hi last Sunday I was at Knockhill race circuit, for some classic car racing.
Unfortunately I never go a chance to see the Ex Robertson 240z as it was involved in a big accident during the first few laps of the first race.
My neighbour is a Marshall and witnessed what happened.
Apparently on the fourth lap the 240z experienced technical problems and was going very slow from the first corner he kept trying to solve the poor running but eventually stopped on track just after the blind chicane(4th corner) under waved yellow flags a Ferrari was overtaking an Escort just before the blind crest at the Chicane and the 240z was hit from behind at approx. 80mph both drivers sustained injuries broken ribs etc but were released from hospital later. Both cars will likely be write offs as the drivers had to be cut from the cars.
A very sad day and sad end to Willies old car!!
