As it says in the title how do i stop the bloody thing falling down out of position

tighten the screw up that holds the mirror body to the mounting Bracket and then at 70 it no longer stays upright and flops down

In some ways its a bit like me at 59 the same thing might start happening

Any tips on tightening the screw and keeping it tight so the bloody thing dosn't droop

talking about the mirror now so no silly remarks

As a rather complicated work around after I totally stripped the thread from the base of the mirror (crappy cast aluminium), I drilled that area out and araldited a M4 thread insert in there. The very slight flange on the insert reduced the space for the mirror section to fit in so it was a seriously tight fit in the end. A new M4 bolt in there and they were rock solid.

That or blu-tac ;)

Cheers,
Rob

I took out the screws, put a tiny bit of double-sided tape (the 1mm thick stuff) at either end of the joint/flange/whatever and then put the screws back in (though the tape). They haven't drooped since and you can't see the tape.
