jay28 Well-Known Forum User Mar 13, 2010 #3 I am the engine builder ., Home job in the garage I cant find the card that came with the cam and cant remember what the clearance was profile of the cam is 290 .495. I got in contact with schneider cams, they mailed me the card but it just has the came timing info on it, nothing about valve clearance.

The valves (especially exhaust) need to spend a certain amount of time on their seat to cool. Perhaps that's the reason.
