Tips for first time using 2k Epoxy Primer

Just given the floors their first coat of epoxy 2k.

But I can't work out how long I have to wait until I can do a 2nd coat?



The tech sheet seems to only talk about handling time (5 hrs) and sanding time (18 hrs). I was assuming it'd be best to give it at least 24 hours, but from googling, some people seem to be saying it can be done after an hour or 2?

Also, do I need to abrade the first coat before applying the second coat? If so, with what kind of grit? 80 again, or finer?

It's designed to be sprayed so you would normally recoat when the first coat is touch dry. If it has not dried too much you should be able to just recoat it, otherwise I would give it a quick red scotch brite and then recoat.

Thanks! I won't have time to do another coat today unfortunately - will be Tuesday now.

Ok cool. I don't have any red scotch brites, so would normal sandpaper do? What kind of grit are the red ones?

That's them, ideally they would be best as sandpaper would risk rubbing through to metal
