Spotted! Purple Z (maybe 260) reg RVH something...

Wow! My first Z in the wild!

Yup, I've never seen a Z in real life before... until today!

A purple Z drove past me... was either a 240 or 260 and looked to be a proper sized car, none of this 2+2 nonsense ;)

I'm 90% sure there was a zclub sticker in the rear quarter window.

Anyone know who it was... and what they were doing in my home town?! :D :bow:

Nope, sure it was a Z... Boooo... how come no one knows who it is if they had a zclub sticker in the window? Don't we have a list of members rides somewhere?
 
I have a photo of a purple 260Z taken at Billing (when it was really muddy that year) - the plate starts AWB; it has a small spoiler on top of a smoothed-in original one and black bumpers.

Don't know who's it is though.
 
Weird... I didn't notice a spoiler and it was driving away from me over my right shoulder... so it wasn't like I could see it properly...

The people driving looked quite lost :D Ah well, if I see it again I'll try and snap a photo or get the full reg.

Whats the best way of getting a Z driver to pull over without them thinking you're a freak? :D

I do believe I am(infact I definately am), the purple(actually blue) z spotted a little while ago "knockin' aboot th' toon".

Not only am I new to this wonderful site, but I'm also a complete novice when it comes to working a computer, so if I haven't managed to give you easy access to a picture of my motor then there are a few piccies on the gallery(pages 4&5 of the 260z section) that were posted by ED1.

I bought the car a few months ago after seeing it advertised on this very site and obviously fell in love with it immediately, only now realising that it was only ever destined to be a genuine 'love/hate' relationship as it's already off the road with what can only be described as very odd electrical behaviour! :conf2:

I never thought I'd be getting my hands dirty so quickly!:unsure:

Hurray!!! Welcome!!! I can't belive a Z is so close to me! Can I come look at it?! :D

I live on the quayside if you're ever driving down city road I'll look out my window :D

Stunning motor you have! Were you looking at a map? You looked a bit lost :D
 
That will be Ross Hamilton's old car then hence RVH I suppose. There is a picture of it in Member's photos (he must have changed the Reg.) Yeh nice car, has won awards at Billing.

No probs, but as I said I've taken it off the road til I get the electrics sorted, don't know how long that's gonna take.

No, I had the chairman/owner of the company I work for in the car with me looking for a possible site to relocate my branch. I real 'brown' moment, I can tell you!

Similar looking, but different car. Mine was black until just over a year ago.

Where should I start? Well, when I bought the car the right indicator, reverse lights, hazards and rear screen weren't working, but I didn't concern myself too much. But now, the rear lights have packed in along with the dash lights, then straight after that the engine no longer turns off when I take the key out, and the remote central locking has buggered!
To summerise......it's gone nuts!
 
Ah not good... We had an old ford (ages ago) that got water in the electrics, so it would do crazy things like yours does.

We also had a Golf which sometimes wouldn't switch off, you had to stall it to stop the engine :D

Fun times!
