Some of them are taken this serious, but it is al for fun.

It’s a bunch of historic rally cars owners who are permitted to drive as audience entertainment before the big boys start.

And this year there's a fairly big chance I will attend!!

Here’s the link to sideways and here are some nice video’s. remember it's all for fun and education for the public.

Hi Guus thankZ for that only had quick glance so far but will return. Brings back some great memories of 70's rallying with real cars. Mention is made of Bjorn Waldegard who I feel was one of the most under-rated drivers of his era, always a top place finisher and aways a private entry. Looks like his son is doing very well in world rallying at present (also a privateer)

cool vid, was that the escort you nearly hit? shame it ended up in the brush, you were going well.

Yes, it was an Escort. Why he stopped I don't know. Well the car is repair, has to be 'shiny' for oct 15th.

Nice one Guus. No chance of a closed road stage like that over here.
You must take lessons in how to park!

Nice stages! Good to see you in action, Guus.

Derek - In the UK both Manx rallys are closed public roads on the Isle of Man and the International Rally in July is in the Historic Championship.

The Jim Clark Memorial Rally is also on closed roads (only one on the UK mainland) and runs a historic class. It was in the Championship a couple of years ago but was dropped as they treated the historics like 2nd class citizens!

Hugh

ps another great rally on closed roads is the Killarney in December - they really are nuts over there!
