Safari gold

Got a body shop to mix up 920 safari gold.
As thinking of painting car this colour.
But they are saying its showing to be more brown than gold.
Any ideas or tips

The name 'Safari Gold' was only a marketing name. If the bodyshop are expecting it to look like an actual Gold hue then they have possibly missed the point.

In fact the colour is better described as an 'Ochre' hue.

Think 'baby shit brown".
It photographs different depending on the light too.

I wouldn’t have said the colour of that car in the pic is Safari Gold, looks a bit too orange. This is more the colour.

Seemed to go out of fashion back then along with brown interior trim .
Well it was the 70s
I don’t dislike it these days but when I came to repaint my Safari gold one I did decide to go a different colour

Spoke with a painter who just did one that colour. It was rust oxide underneath . The metallic blue and 110 red use the grey with a light greenish hue.

In your prep, feather edge a spot and see what yours is.
